Where Angels Sing
October 19, 2009
Dear Singers and Parents,
One short month into our new season, and all of our choirs
are sounding fabulous. Thank you
for the work you have already put in to your music. If these first few weeks are any indication, I look forward
to what this year holds for all of us musically and as people who just love
singing together.
New Choirs = Happy
Sounds For those of you new to our choral organization, you may not be aware of
the changes we've made this year. Based on growing enrollment and the steady
urging of the singers, our group expanded by one choir this year. We now have three groups:
- Children's
Choir (6-10 years)
- Youth
Singers (11-14)
- Senior
Youth Singers (15+)
Considering that this group started with 12 lovely singers
in a small rehearsal room, it is incredibly gratifying to me to see this growth
and the unwavering commitment of parents and singers alike to what we do.
New Accompanists I am happy to welcome two new accompanists into our musical fold this year.
- Carolyn
Scott is playing for the Children's Choir
- Joel
Goodfellow is playing for the Youth and Senior Choir
We are very fortunate to have both of them working with us.

Registration If you have not already registered for choir through the University, please
call Recreation Services at 329-2706. The cost for the year is $200.00.
If you are not able to register at this time, please speak
with me privately and we can make confidential arrangements to suit you.
Parent's Meeting I don't often have the chance to meet with you and tell you about my plans and
hopes for the year. I'd like to
have a short meeting on Tuesday, November 3rd at 6:45 for all choir
parents. We will meet at Immanuel
Lutheran Church (20 Rocky Mountain Blvd).
This meeting should be no longer than 30 minutes.
That's it for now.
You will receive one of these letters from me every few weeks. Thanks to the wonders of modern
technology, you can also access archives of previous newsletters as well.
Musically yours,
Kathy Matkin-Clapton
